About

Kingshood Support Ltd is a Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated specialist community healthcare provider. Our registered nurses and healthcare assistants are skilled and dedicated to support mainly children and young people with mental health challenges. Kingshood makes important contributions in the recovery of services users using evidence-based interventions. We are genuine, we use safe and holistic approach and we value the emotional wellbeing of our service users. Recruiting and retention of staff remains a top priority, our staff are trained and well remunerated.

Together with our creative and talented team, which is open minded, non-judgemental, young, fun, vibrant and experienced, Kingshood Support number one priority is to deliver and to enable outstanding high quality individualised service users support. We create pathway plans that build independent skills to achieve better outcomes. We work collaboratively with borough councils, families, social workers, mental health specialists, behavioural therapist, psychologist, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG), Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS), and the private sector. Kingshood Support is always finding new ways of working by putting in place systems that work. Because we care about the Environment and we desire to do something revolutionary we have gone 95% paperless and digital.

At Kingshood Support our packages are solution driven and that makes us unique. We make sure our service users get the tailored support they need by listening to them and then build a therapeutic relationship with them. The models of care we use are Just Enough Care, A Home of Your Own, Supported Living, Support and Independence Progression and finally Transition.

Kingshood Support

We believe in good communication as a very effective tool that we use in our organization. Support Objectives and Values. We aim to provide a service that:

Equal Opportunities

At Kingshood there is a strong emphasis on respecting people's choices, and supporting them to achieve their wishes and ambitions.

COMPASSION

We are considerate and committed to dealing with a young person's struggles. We take action to ease their pain.
Empathy
Respects Diversity and Culture

Our values

We often tend to people who want to experience more satisfaction, joy, resiliency in their lives. Other times people feel down, unexcited about life, and just want to stop feeling that way. General areas we address.

Supported Living & Accommodation

We provide highly specialist support for people who have mental health conditions, learning disabilities and autism in the community. We believe in homes and not hospitals. As an organisation we keep up to date with the latest research, innovations in technology and evidence-based best practice.

Kingshood support works together with other professionals to assess each person's needs and develop their support using a Positive Behaviour Support framework. We focus on placing each person at the centre of their own care, empowering each individual to learn the skills that really matter to them, enabling them to live happy, contented lives. This means each person we support gets exactly the right kind of expert attention they need, when they need it, so they can make more choices about what they want from life every day.

What can you expect from staff?

All Kingshood Suppport staff who provide service should:

We know that the best outcomes are achieved when we work closely with families. Families are involved in every step from recruiting the support team and finding the right accommodation, to attending planning and feedback meetings to ensure things are staying on track. We also have a family charter that sets out our commitment to working with you and outlines your personal preferences for how you’d like to stay involved and stay in touch. We are open to talk about what’s needed to ensure exciting and positive outcomes are achieved in the next stages of the life of someone we support.

Positive Behaviour Support

Our focus is on encouraging people to challenge themselves to achieve their own goals and get the most out of life, while supporting increased independence and choice. We believe behaviour that is challenging is a form of communication. Kingshood support puts an effort to understand the reasons why people display behaviour that challenges before we can support them to have more positive behaviour. Our work is evidenced based and data driven. Our PBS consultants carry out functional assessments of any behaviour that is challenging and work alongside the individual, their family, and their support team. They support people to develop functionally equivalent skills, which means they no longer need to engage in the challenging behaviour. We plan care in a person-centred way to improve people's quality of life, and work towards living an independent life possible.
